Pune: Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL), worlds fifth largest* and Indias largest wind turbine manufacturer, won a repeat order from Senok to supply 10 units of Suzlons S88 – 2.1 MW wind turbine generators, aggregating to 21 MW of wind power capacity. The project will be commissioned in two phases and be completed by May 2012.

Suzlon has previously supplied a 10 MW wind project to the Senok Group, the order marked key firsts for Sri Lankas wind energy sector as the first project to feature megawatt class turbines, and also the first project by any private developer in the island nation. The new 21 MW project will come up alongside the existing project site in the Puttalm district of Sri Lanka.
Senok Group, is a diversified business conglomerate of Sri Lanka with interests across construction machinery, automotives, infrastructure development, tea, haulage and mining. The Group has an established presence in the clean energy space with its wind portfolio and investments in mini hydro projects.
